Hundreds of Palestinian couples marry in a Gaza mass wedding

About 250 couples took part in a shared ceremony organised through a UAE backed humanitarian relief campaign as the war grinds on across the enclave.

About 250 Palestinian couples have married in a mass wedding in Gaza, a public celebration of new family life staged while the war continues to reshape daily existence across the enclave.

Organisers said the event was arranged by Operation Chivalrous Knight, a humanitarian relief campaign backed by the UAE. Couples gathered to exchange vows and mark beginnings that many families have deferred under bombardment, displacement and the collapse of ordinary civilian routines.

Mass weddings have periodically appeared in Gaza during earlier rounds of conflict as a way to cut costs, share scarce resources and assert normal life under abnormal pressure. This gathering stands out for its scale and for the Gulf funding channel named by organisers, at a moment when reconstruction, shelter and basic services remain far short of need.

Public reports do not list individual names, dowry arrangements or whether participants were newly displaced. They do confirm a large, organised ceremony framed as both relief and defiance: a claim that courtship, marriage and family continuity continue even when housing, work and safety do not.
